Good News Bible The Testament And The New Testament

The term â€Å"Bible† is an interesting one as it potentially encompasses many different entities. There are thousands of versions of the Bible, many arranged and presented in a variety of ways. They vary physically in content, and as I recently discovered aren t necessarily Christian. Below I delve into a rather interesting version of the book published in 1976 by HarperCollins (in conjunction with the American Bible Society). Good News Bible is a compilation of the Old Testament and the New Testament in their entirety (the American Bible Society had actually made their version of the New Testament available a decade prior). This information is made easily available in small print on the first few pages just as in most relatively modern books. The society was founded in 1816 and its goal has always been to make the Bible more intelligible. The stories contained within the Good News Bible don t deviate from those that most Christians are accustomed to, however, the way which these stories are conveyed is rather unique. The book is written in simple everyday English and it is comprehensible to nearly everyone with even the slightest grasp of the language. The basic elements of the book (including cover, binding, paper, font, headings, maps, paper, illustrations, chronology, etc.) are all incorporated deliberately and make it apparent that Good News Bible is intended to make reading the Bible a far less daunting task.
